Village leaders, at a series of unofficial reconciliation meetings overseen by police and governorate officials and some attended by members of parliament, decided that eight Christian families would leave the village.
All of the families were related to either the man who supposedly had the affair or the man who shot a gun. Those related to the shooter were the ones given permission to return.
The parliament members who visited yesterday represented a range of parties, both secular and Islamist. Members from Islamist parties were present at the initial ?reconciliation councils.?
They announced that the families of those related to the man who shot the gun during the attack could return, and asserted that they were never forced to leave in the first place but chose to leave for their safety.?The patriarch of the four families who may now return, Abu Suleiman, said this week that the committee told him he could leave the village or face continued attacks.
The statement by parliament members did not mention the remaining three families, and blamed media for exaggerating and worsening the situation. It also urged police to investigate the attacks on Christian homes and shops.

US sites hacked as objections grow to piracy deal

His announcement came after Slovenia's government also said Friday that it is halting the ratification of ACTA.
"This agreement is obviously not a matter of understanding, but of major misunderstanding," Slovenian Education Minister Radovan Zerjav said.
The developments are bad news for industrialized countries such as the United States, which have pushed ACTA as a way of defending the entertainment industry and luxury goods manufacturers from pirates and counterfeiters. American officials spent years negotiating ACTA in an effort to harmonize intellectual property protection across different countries.
The goal is to help countries fight everything from fake pharmaceuticals to pirated music, but grass-roots activists ? many of them in Eastern Europe ? have been waging weeks of protests against what they see as moves intended to clamp down on free expression and Internet privacy.
So far around 20 countries have signed up to the deal, a key step before ratification. Four EU countries have now backed away from it ? Poland, Slovenia, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic ? and its approval at the European Union level appears increasingly uncertain.
Tusk also said Friday that he sent a letter to the European People's Party, a center-right group in the European Parliament to which his Civic Platform belongs, urging it not to back ACTA in its current form.
Back in the United States, the Trade Commission confirmed that the sites had been compromised, saying in an email that they had been taken down and wouldn't be brought back "until we're satisfied that any vulnerability has been addressed."
Anonymous boasted of stealing a large amount of personal data from Trade Commission employees ? including everything from banking statements to dating website information.
The Trade Commission said that while it was still investigating the hack, "the nature of the site limits information that could have been accessed."

Grammys draw bumper 39 million TV viewers (Reuters)
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) ? The TV audience for the Grammy Awards show soared to 39 million viewers on Sunday, fueled by the sudden death of Whitney Houston and the success of British singer Adele.
The more than three hour telecast drew its second largest ever TV audience, and the biggest since 1984, according to early ratings data on Monday from the Nielsen company.
The annual awards show, the biggest night in the music industry, was overshadowed by the sudden death of Houston, 48, on Saturday in a Beverly Hills hotel. She was found in a bathtub, coroners officials said, but the exact cause of her death is still under investigation.
On Sunday, Grammy-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson paid tribute to Houston with a heartfelt rendition of her hit song "I Will Always Love You", and the telecast began with a prayer.
Viewers also tuned in to broadcaster CBS to see the first live performance by Adele, 23, after throat surgery in November. The "Rolling In the Deep" singer, whose album "21" was the world's biggest seller in 2011, walked off with all six of the Grammys she had been nominated for.

White House attacks contraception bills (AP)
WASHINGTON ? The White House said Monday legislation in the Senate that would give employers broad leeway to restrict coverage for contraception is "dangerous and wrong."
Press secretary Jay Carney took aim at legislation by Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. ? a possible GOP vice presidential candidate ? and Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., that would allow any employer to deny birth control coverage if it runs counter to their religious or moral beliefs.
Another bill, by Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., would go even further by allowing health plans to deny coverage for any service that violates their beliefs.
Both approaches are far more expansive than allowing conscientious protections just for churches and church-affiliated employers. President Barack Obama stirred up the issue recently by trying to get religious-affiliated employers like Catholic hospitals to provide free birth control coverage to their employees. The president bowed to intense opposition last week and declared that such coverage would be provided by insurance companies instead.
Carney said both the Rubio and Blunt bills take "absolutely the wrong approach." He said it's vital for women no matter where they work to have access to free preventive care, including birth control.
Alex Conant, spokesman for Rubio, responded that, "The Obama administration is willing to violate religious liberties with its federal takeover of health care. It's clear that legislation is needed to protect these important constitutional freedoms from federal overreach."

As a psychologist, I have always found the concept of speed dating fascinating. During a series of mini dates, each spanning no more than a couple of minutes, participants in a speed-dating event evaluate a succession of eligible singles. They make split-second decisions on matters of the heart, creating a pool of information on one of the more ineffable yet vital questions of our time?how we select our mates.
The concept of rapid-fire dating has gained tremendous popularity, spreading to cities all over the world. One speed-dating company in New York City, for example, holds a gathering almost every day. Last year online coupon company Groupon hosted the world?s largest speed-dating event, with 414 attendees crammed into a restaurant in Chicago. Start-up companies now meet with investors, pregnant couples interact with doulas, and homeless dogs court potential owners, all using the speed-dating format.
Some years ago I caved to my curiosity and tried it out myself. As it turns out, I like to talk?a lot. When the little buzzer went off after three minutes, I often found myself still trying to explain to my bedazzled dating partner why my last name has four syllables (it is Dutch). As you might imagine, I did not find the love of my life.
I made some beginner?s mistakes; however, I am not alone in having struggled with speed dating. Even if meet-and-greet matching events might seem like the most efficient way to comb through many options at once, a wealth of data reveals that the context in which we make a choice weighs heavily on the outcome. Speed-dating events can promote a particular decision-making style that might not always work in our favor. Yet we need not be passive victims of our circumstances. Knowing how your environment influences your mind-set, a quality known as ecological rationality, can help you make the choices that are best for you.

Traditional dating can seem haphazard, contingent on seemingly minor details such as whether you signed up for the right yoga class or patronized the same bar as your future love interest. Online dating, too, has its drawbacks, requiring hours to sift through profiles and craft careful introductory e-mails before arranging to meet in person. Speed dating, by comparison, offers the opportunity to chat up many eligible singles in rapid succession.
In a typical speed-dating event, participants pair off at individual tables and chairs for a few minutes of conversation. When the buzzer sounds, half of the singles move to another chair and a different partner, in a kind of round robin. After the event is over, the daters submit to the event?s organizers the names of the individuals they would like to see again. It sounds simple, but each variable in the design of the event can affect the daters? outcomes.
In spite of maxims about so many fish in the sea, for example, recent research tells us that the heart prefers a smaller pond. In a study in 2011 in the journal Biology Letters, University of Edinburgh psychologist Alison P. Results observed in the world of online dating support this finding. A study in 2008 by Lenton and Barbara Fasolo of the London School of Economics and Political Science indicates that participants often misjudge how the number of options available to them will affect their feelings. Participants presented with a broad array of potential partners more closely aligned with their anticipated ideal did not experience greater emotional satisfaction than when presented with fewer options.

Only couple who are very intentional about providing the child with the best learning experience should attempt this though.

Since you are planning ahead though you really can have other options, like lower your expenses to minimum now. Run hard for those 3 years while saving. Then maybe take a year or so off.
Maybe even after 3 years of teaming and saving a local or regional job could be suitable for expenses and taking care of the family.

Two words come to mind when the AlphaDog is involved: apex predator. Sure, it's a?robot and not really a predator, but it looks so terrifying it will cause just about anyone to shake in their boots. We?first heard of AlphaDog late last year when?DARPA originally unveiled the terrifying four-legged robot. Its already humongous predecessor,?BigDog, looks positively tame next to this colossal machine.
In the video above, you can see AlphaDog during its very first outdoor assessment, running up and down slopes?but that's not because DARPA's testing it so it can chase hapless people over hills. AlphaDog is designed to carry heavy loads, and it needs to be able to traverse all types of terrain.
The machine will undergo more testing with the?Marines in the next 18 months to ensure it can carry up to 400 lbs. throughout a 24-hour, 20-mile journey without refueling. To put its capacity in perspective, a horse can carry around 240 lbs. of load. DARPA engineers are currently working to create a much quieter motor for AlphaDog so it doesn't give its position away during a mission.

Judge tosses case seeking rights for orcas
SAN DIEGO (AP) ? An effort to free whales from SeaWorld by claiming they were enslaved made a splash in the news but flopped in court Wednesday.
A federal judge in San Diego dismissed an unprecedented lawsuit seeking to grant constitutional protection against slavery to a group of orcas that perform at SeaWorld parks, saying the 13th amendment applies only to humans.
U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Miller stopped the case from proceeding two days after he became the first judge in U.S. history to listen to arguments in court over the possibility of granting constitutional rights for members of an animal species.
"As 'slavery' and 'involuntary servitude' are uniquely human activities, as those terms have been historically and contemporaneously applied, there is simply no basis to construe the Thirteenth Amendment as applying to non-humans," Miller wrote in his ruling.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals filed the lawsuit in October and named five whales as plaintiffs. PETA says the wild-captured orcas are enslaved by SeaWorld because they are held in concrete tanks against their will and forced to perform in shows at its parks in San Diego and Orlando, Fla.
SeaWorld called the lawsuit baseless and a waste of the court's time and money.
"We cannot hope that this is PETA's last publicity stunt but we can now refocus our energy in more positive and constructive ways: delivering high quality education experiences to our guests and providing the highest possible standard of care to our animals," spokesman Dave Koontz wrote in a statement.
Legal experts say it opened an interesting debate about the expansion of animal rights.
PETA attorney Jeffrey Kerr says his organization does not plan to give up the fight to protect the orcas, but he did not specify the next action.
PETA is known for its provocative anti-fur and pro-vegan campaigns to engage the court of public opinion.
"Today's decision does not change the fact that the orcas who once lived naturally wild and free, are today kept as slaves by SeaWorld," Kerr said in a statement. "PETA will regroup and determine how to continue to work for the legal protection they deserve."
SeaWorld denies any mistreatment of the animals and says its parks have raised awareness that has helped conservation efforts. It also says it has rescued orcas injured in the wild.
