Your Boss is Worried About Your Retirement - Budgeting and ...

A new report shows that employers -- yes, your bosses -- are worried about your retirement.

A study by consulting company Towers Watson shows that only one in five employers think that their employees make "educated decisions" about retirement. Even fewer employers -- 1 in 10 -- think that their employees have retirement goals.

65 percent of employers say that they offer good retirement planning resources, but only 15 percent believe that their employees take advantage of it.

Almost half the employers surveyed said they're worried that older employees will choose to stay in their positions into their late 60's or 70's.

The takeaway? If your company offers retirement planning resources, take full advantage. If your company doesn't, read retirement-planning blogs and books. After all, no one -- not even your boss -- can force you to plan for your own future.
